To access the leave accrual screens click the Setup Award Accruals button.
These screens are populated by the following fields.
Yearly Entitlement - expresssed in Weeks and Hours (Annual Leave), Days and Hours (Sick Leave and RD's/TIL) or Years and Weeks (Long Service Leave). Changing the figure in one field will alter the other accordingly.
Accrual Method - this column contains the method of accruing entitlements. Click on the down arrow and choose from the following options described below;
per hour (pro rata) - If an employee is being paid per hour (as set in the Pay Type), the accrual balance will increase directly proportional to the hours being paid in the pay envelope. "Hours" is the key word because if the employee is being paid with a pay rate that is not paid per hour (eg lump sum) then the accrual balance won't increase. Suited to most situations especially employees who don't work set hours.
per Pay Period (Lump Sum) - The accrual balance will increase by the same amount each pay period regardless of the hours worked. Ideally suited to employees on a salary.
on Anniversary of 'Date Hired' (Lump Sum) - The accrual balance won't change from pay period to pay period (unless they take leave of course), but will suddenly 'jump-up' by the annual entitlement when the employee's anniversary of employment falls within the pay period. Most suited to Long Service Leave.
on Anniversary of 'Specific Date' (Lump Sum) dd/MM/YYYY - The accrual balance won't change from pay period to pay period (unless they take leave of course), but will suddenly 'jump-up' by the annual entitlement when a date you specify falls within the pay period. Most suited to specific industry awards.
