The best way to approach the setting up of an award for casual employees is TAB by TAB:
Award 1 TAB: All fields to be filled out as per a full time award except:
Hours: This is to be a negative figure. The best examples would be -38 or -40. The implication of this is that the hours for this employee come up in the pay envelope as 0 instead of some positive figure which may not be noticed and accidently paid.
Nominal Base Gross Wages / Salary: An irrelevant field as the total income overthe year cannot be predicted. Let e-PayDay® calculate a figure in here.
Accruals 2 TAB: As casuals are not normally entitled to accruals, all fields in these TABs are to be blank or zero.
Superannuation 3 TAB: All fields to be filled out as per a full time award.
Super Rules 4 TAB: This TAB is of particular relevance to casual awards because it is usually casuals who are subject to conditions upon their entitlement to SGL. See Super Rules TAB.
Times 5 TAB: Fields in this TAB are irrelevant as a casual employee doesn't have set working hours.
Shifts 6 TAB: Only fill out this TAB if you are using e-PayDay®. See Shifts TAB.
