Introduction
The process of transfering data from your payroll program to another program (eg. to your Accounting program) is known as 'Exporting'. In e-PayDay® this involves creating or appending to an export file every time a payrun is finalised. The method of transferring your export data file into another program is referred to as 'Importing'. Please refer to the Manual of the program you are importing into for specific procedures for correct importing.

An export file may be created for the following:

Configuring e-PayDay®
To export payrun information e-PayDay® must be configured to do so, via the e-Port™ window. For export to Sage Pastel accounting packages please refer to the Sage Pastel GL Interface Setup topic.
To access the e-Port™ window, from the main screen, click on the drop-down menu item Company (above the picture button). Select e-Port™, then click Configure PAYRUN Data Export File.

The e-Port™ window contains the fields below:
Export Format - the format you wish to use for exporting, this will depend on the requirements for importing into your selected program. Click on the drop down arrow and select the required format.
NOTE:
If you choose BIZZ WIZZ from the list of Export Formats an extra section will appear and request you to select the Drive & Folder that contains your BIZZ WIZZ abk.exe which is where the data will be exported to, for this company.
If you choose Kitten Software Auto WorkShop (V2.xx) the payroll export file LOGSVM.CSV file would be in c:\kitten.
If you choose Kitten ServiceMaster (V7.xx) so the payroll export file LOGSVM.CSV file will be sitting in c:\aasvm.
Available Exports window - lists what information can be brought across from e-PayDay®
Selected Exports window - once you have selected an item in the 'Available Exports' list (ie. left hand side) and clicked on the Add or Add All button they will then show in this section (ie. right hand side). If you wish to remove an item that is in the Selected Exports list then highlight the item and click on the Remove button.
Account Number button - applicable when BizMaster, BIZZ WIZZ, Costar, FinancePlus, Hotstart, MYOB, Pastel or Peachtree is selected as the Export Format and you have items in the Selected Exports window. To allocate the export items to the appropriate General Ledger Accounts; highlight a particular item in the Selected Export and the click on the Account Number button (located above Selected Exports list). A window appears enabling the account number for this export item to be entered. This must be done for each item.
When you enter a MYOB account number the correct format will automatically applied (eg: If you enter 63110 the dash will be added so that the export file will read 6-3310.
When you enter a Peachtree account number the default Peachtree is XXXXX-XX eg: 77500-00. If you have specified a segment separator other than a hyphen (-) then enter that.
When you enter a Sage Pastel account number the default format is XXXXXXX eg: 7 digits, Main account number (4 digits) followed by the Sub-Account number (3 Digits)
For Locations and Cost Centres (if an option) the account numbers are set-up in either the Cost Centres or the Employee's Payrun 3 tab.
For MYOB and Pastel - Job Code (MYOB) or Cost Code (Pastel) can be entered in theLocation ore-Cost™ screens.
The exception to this is if you are using theSage Pastel General Ledger Interface export format.
Once you have setup the required items in the Selected Exports list, and they have each been allocated an account number (if applicable), then click on OK to exit the e-Port™ window; otherwise click on Cancel.
Each company in e-PayDay® can have their own export format independant of another company's export format. For instance, one company could be exporting for Pastel Accounting whereas the other company is exporting into QuickBooks. The settings in the e-Port™ window are effective for the company you are currently in.
If after you have completed the above steps for creating an export file and you do not have Acceptable Account Numbers an error message will display the accounts which are not correct. Click on the Close button and re-enter the correct account numbers. A hint will appear when you are entering the account number to help you enter them accurately.
