| • | Backup Filename Change |
New backups will be renamed from “DDMMYY-N” to “YYMMDD_N” this will ensure when the files are sorted they will be in chronological order. The program will also attempt to rename your existing backup files when possible.
e.g. The first backup created on the 1st July 2009 previously named 010609-1
is now named 090701-1
This change now allows you to quickly locate backups in chronological order.

Help is no longer provided 'offline' with e-PayDay®. This has been done to ensure that the help is up to date and changes to the help will not require to be downloaded and installed. The 'online' help can be access via the Help > Contents menu option.

When you select the menu option Help > New Features > Series XX. A browser window will open and you will be directed to the 'online' help main page which contains the new features for the current version of e-PayDay®.
| • | Remote Desktop Support |
Using a third party service support can now gain remote desktop access of your PC. To start the process select the Help > e-PayDay Remote Desktop Support. A browser window will open and you will be directed to the 'Remote Desktop Support' page. If you are prompted to install an 'ActiveX' control please install it, otherwise the page will not load properly. Once the 'ActiveX' control is installed you will be given a client ID. This is used by e-PayDay® support personnel to connect to your PC.
| • | Deducting Super Before Tax |
Superannuation can now be taken from the gross before it is taxed. Some Industry agreements allow this to happen. Be aware that unless you have ATO approval to do this it may be illegal to have the superannuation deducted from an employees wages before it is taxed.
| • | FAST-Bank file export |
The FAST-Bank export file now adds the company position ID at the start of the FAST-Bank file. This means that if you have multiple companies using the same financial institution you do not need to worry about the FAST-Bank files being overwritten.
e.g. Previously a FAST-Bank File was named BANKTITLE + PAYPERIOD + .ABA
A payrun for Weekly Employees from Company Number 1 transferred via the Commonwealth Bank Of Australia was previously named;
CBAW.ABA
Now is named as follows;
COMPANYNUMBER + BANKNAME + PAYPERIOD + .ABA

| • | Inactive Employee Report |
The 'Employee Listing' report has been updated so that the 'Inactive Employees' option can be selected in the 'Report by ..' dropdown. This will display all the inactive employees in the Employee listing report.
| • | Payment Summary Report Update |
The ATO requested a subtle change to the Payment Summaries. The wording Allowances shown here are not included in Gross payments above. The amount/s need/s to be shown separately in your tax return.” will be displayed when Allowances are shown in the bottom section of the document.
| • | New Email Function |
The Email system has been updated with newer technology, you can use almost any SMTP mail server to send e-mails. Firstly you will need to configure your Email settings. This can be done via the Utilities > Configure Email menu option. Refer to the help for a more detailed explanation of setting up and sending e-mails via e-PayDay®.
The e-mail attachments (ie. Pay Slips) have been changed from Word Document Format to Rich Text Format. These attachments should not be blocked by e-mail Servers or e-mail Clients. Also Rich Text Format documents are viewable in WordPad or the equivalent file viewer supplied with Microsoft Windows.
| • | LiveUpdate |
The LiveUpdate system has been updated to inform the user at least once a day if a new update is available for download. This will be done automatically, and the update can be applied after the download is complete.
LiveUpdate can be started manually by selecting the Utilites > e-PayDay LiveUpdate menu option.

A new component has been created which can automatically download the current times from a e-PayDay® Bio-Clock device.
