A stand alone installation describes installing e-PayDay® on a single machine where both the executable (*.exe) file is running from the (same) machine as which the data folder(s) is stored. In other words, everything is kept on the one machine. Whether or not this machine is connected to a network is irrelevant.
It is recommended that before beginning the installation you ensure the following
1. All other programs have been closed.
2. If you have to go through a login when starting the PC, then you are logged in with administrator privileges.
3. Any anti-virus software is disabled. This software should re-enable upon the restart of the computer which signals the end of the installation process.
4. You have enough hard drive space available. 300MB should suffice. (Anything less than 200MB results in Windows becoming unstable).
During the installation of e-PayDay® choose for the installation type to be 'Stand alone'.
There will prompts about the program path and parent data path. These refer to where the executable file will run from and in which folder will the data folder(s) be kept, respectively. Although it is not necessary, you can change these paths during the installation if you choose to do so.
The last prompt will ask for the "OK" button to be clicked so that the computer can be restarted.
After the computer has restarted you should have a shortcut to e-PayDay® either on the desktop or the programs menu accessed via the start button. If not, then do a search for the file 'e-PayDay.exe' and create a shortcut for that file on the desktop.
Double click on the shortcut to e-PayDay® and upon entering the program for the first time, you will asked to enter in your company details. Once this is done, e-PayDay® needs to be registered. See Registration.
