Introduction
In South Australia and Victoria, employers are required by legislation to contribute the equivalent of a certain percentage of each employee's gross pay to the government under the banner of 'WorkCover'. In e-PayDay®, each employee has a 'WorkCover' TAB in their details, where this percentage can be placed. The 'WorkCover' TAB needs to be completed for each employee subject to WorkCover.
Paying WorkCover
To keep track of when the WorkCover monies are forwarded to the government, e-PayDay® has an option where WorkCover can be "paid". This updates each employee's 'WorkCover Paid YTD' figure. This can be achieved by clicking on the word 'Employees' (above the Pay Types button) and then click on 'WorkCover Bulk Payment'.
Make sure you have printed the WorkCover reports. A message will prompt you to continue (see example below)

Once you have made sure the reports have been printed and you press 'Continue', the total amount of Work Cover for Bulk Payment will be shown.

Employee's WorkCover TAB
Along with the WorkCover percentage, each employee's WorkCover TAB also has the following fields
WorkCover YTD – This is simply the aggregate product of the WorkCover percentage multiplied by the employee's gross each pay, for the current financial year so far.
WorkCover Paid YTD – This figure is updated each time a WorkCover bulk payment is made.

WorkCover vs Superannuation
In South Australia WorkCover is payable on the employee's gross pay plus the superannuation (SGL) on that gross pay. In any other state, WorkCover is only payable on the gross pay. To define which state the employee is employed in, complete the 'State Award' field in the employee's 'Employment 2' TAB.
